Northern Counties Shih Tzu Club

Held an Open show on the 6^th January 2011 with an entry of 63 dogs making

 entries of 92

Firstly I would like to thank my Stewards Ann Pickburn and Mandy Houghton for an unobtrusive job.

I was pleasantly surprised with the number and quality which appeared on the day, there are still far too many that need to be broader in body, overall shape needs to improve and one or two need to show more pad when moving off, overall I thought dogs had the edge on the bitches.

Best in Show was Ch Rossvale She’s Bewitched a most beautiful example of the breed thought in final run off with best dog she gave that touch more on the move to pinch top spot, very worthy winner with a most feminine head lovely make and shape and in super condition at 9 years old.

Res Best in Show & Best Opposite sex was Tansingh Double Jepardy. A well built dog with plenty of substance and an abundance of good quality coat in all departments, nicely headed with a soft expression, reasonable shoulders, very broad body with a firm topline, really good rear quarters when going away, presented in tip top order.

Best Puppy in Show was Symaraju kicking up a storm what a smart dog that ticks all the right boxes, looks big and impressive, but once you go over him on the table it is quite evident that his size is not as big as first though, a delightful head piece with an impressive muzzle and wide open nostrils, broad backed with a firm wide rear action.

Minor Puppy Dog

1^st Tsantha Walkn on Sunshine over Sazkey. Very raw puppy that stood out for

 his obvious qualities, he had very little coat so you got what you see, nicely headed with good pigment nice short legs, broad backed for one so young, good mover fore and aft.

2^nd Shionah’s Big Brown Bear. Well built B & W parti colour at first he was

 being silly on the table and would not settle which didn’t help in shape but as the class got on he got better, obviously needs time to settle, large head with a good eye, dark pigment broad ribbing. Abundant of thick coat and well prepared and presented.

3^rd Zuthis One Man Band

Puppy Dog

1^st Santabella Cheeki Budda a most impressive dog that catches your eye for

 his immaculate presentation, arguably I felt he was a touch over prepared, however you could not deny him his place he has many other qualities which out balanced, lovely head piece very clean over the skull, nicely proportioned bodily with a good firm rear.

2^nd Shionah’s Big Brown Bear.

1^st Symaraju kicking up a storm

2^nd Lyndatz Fine and Dandy. Well built broad backed dog of good substance

, large head, would have liked darker pigment, ample neck with good bone and feet, good mover in both directions, presented in good clean order.

1^st Thaisu Follow the Sun to Rossvale. A very honest dog that could have a

 touch more natural shape, pleasing head with a soft expression, quite a nice body and ratio’s, firm rear with a reasonable forward reach, put down in good order.

2^nd Lyndatz Fine and Dandy

3^rd Shizarbruno Mr Cappachino for Cimona

Post Graduate Dog

1^st Caserose Colour of Magic at Shionah. Black & White Parti colour with the

 most impressive muzzle that had really good pigment, ideal size for a dog, quite chunky with a good deportment, good positive mover and presented in good order.

2^nd Tsantha’s happy to see me. Red & white parti colour good make and shape,

 pleased in head with a good eye, reasonable shoulders with good bone and feet, good body proportions positive mover bothways. Presented in good clean order.

3^rd Shizarbruno Mr Cappachino for Cimona.

Limit Dog

1^st Rossvale Red Xcess. A very smart dog with muscle, looked cobby  with

 good proportions and a very nice size, good broad jaw, nice head, ample neck broad level back, good positive mover but could be better finish coat wise at the rear.

2^nd Harropine Comanche Among Carlita. Another quality dog that catches your

 eye for his qualities, just did not have the forward reach of winner, but ticked many boxes today, pleasing on the table, handled and prepared to win.

3^rd Caserose Cowboy Magic

4^th Just Dandy from Krisquest.

1^st Tansingh Double Jepardy.

2^nd Huxlor Fantasy Flyer at Tzusweet. Black & Whit Parti colour with a stylish

 outline, good head and furnishings, good body ratio’s but I would have liked him a touch broader to give better effect, good free mover in both directions. Presented in good clean order.

Veteran Dog

1^st Brownhills My Choice.

2^nd Zuthis Fact Not Fiction among Carlita. Both these veterans are by the same

 sire and in many ways they are quite similar in quality although on the day I prefared the broadness of the winner, but both had good make and shape and pleased in many ways and both in good coat order.

Special Beginners Dog

1st Lyndatz Fine and Dandy

2^nd Shantrionna Little Dazzle. A pleasing youngster that needs more time to

 mature but good in many ways, soft expression with a good eye, good bodily proportions throughout, give him time.

Minor Puppy Bitch

Tsantha Sunkiss. Litter brother to Minor puppy dog and very similar in type, only a baby at present, very good head with a soft feminine expression, very good proportions with good deportment, very positive mover in both directions, presented in pristine condition.

1^st Tansingh Color me Beautiful for Mirazian. This was my res best bitch I found

 it quite amazing that for best puppy it was challenging it’s half-brother, and the thing that impressed me was her sheer quality in such a small package, this her sire is/or has on this occasion stamped real quality regarding wide nostrils and broad muzzle as both these have these features.  

2^nd Tansingh all you need is love. Another lovely bitch but not quite the chest

 of winner at present, very feminine to view with a lovely head piece and soft expression, good ratio’s that gave her balance. Good mover, quite free, well presented throughout.

3^rd Huningsbane Razzel Dazzle

Junior Bitch

1^st Shizarbruno Lady Gaga.  Smart little bitch with a very good body both in

 depth and width, very pretty head with a soft feminine expression, good make and shape, very light footed with little effort, presented in good order.

2^nd Evalove Bella the Ball at Katonier Black & White parti-colour, bigger than

 winner and very much a good shape, large head with dark eyes, excellent pigment, good shoulder and upper arm, good all-round bitch with attitude, unlucky to meet winner today. Prepared and presented in tip top order.

3^rd Pekoe Too Good to Miss JW.

1^st. Huningsbane Razzel Dazzle. Quite a nice type Black & White Parti colour

, good hape when she pulled herself together, pleased in head properties with dark soft eye, ample neck reasonable body, little flat in tail, good coat but needs a touch more undercoat. Presented in good clean order.

2^nd Tzusweet’s Foxy Lady. A pleasing little bitch that does look really feminine

 with a sweet nature, good soft expression shoulders could be a little better, quite a broad body and with good proportions, good firm rear action but a touch wide in front. Good clean order.

3^rd Charmed Temptation for Shantrionna.

Graduate Bitch

1^st Tansingh Angel and Demon, Quite a nice bitch that was quite broad backed

 with deepish ribbing, very feminine to view, a little problem with her tail today but recovered well in the end, carrying a good jacket both in texture and density, good clean order.

2^nd Serenity Charm for Shantrionna. Another smart bitch with lots to like quite

 cobby in profile with a feminine head piece, really good rear action going away but could improve in front. Good coat covering and in good clean order.

3^rd Casamays Topaz at Carlita

Post Graduate Bitch

1^st Mirazian Come Fly with Me JW. Black & White Parti colour, quite a nice

 shape when stood but reluctant when on the table hard to evaluate a dog when they don’t help themselves, however very typical in type, clean head with strong muzzle, lovely neck good shoulder, good ribbing, good jacket, little flat in tail.

2^nd Gillyanne Annies Song. Quite a nice bitch but not quite the typical shape of

 winner, nevertheless, lots to like in many ways, good bodily proportions and pleasing rib, good rear on the move but a touch flat in tail.

3^rd Alchez Ching Lan

1^st Ch Rossvale She’s Bewitched

2^nd Tansingh Drop Dead Gorgeous. A nice quality bitch not quite the width in

 body as winner, but lots to like about her, put in a good performance, good shape with a good coat covering, a little short in tail. Presented in really good order.

3^rd Superlion Identity Crisis.

Special Beginners Bitch.

1^st Serenity Charm for Shantrionna.

2^nd Tzusweet Lady Luck. Sweet bitch of a good size, very feminine expression,

 pleasing deportment, good forward reach but needs to strengthen more behind, well presented.

Violet Yates Memorial Stakes.

1^st Serenity Charm for Shantrionna.

2^nd Shantrionna Little Dazzle. Pleasing deportment, good proportions could be

 broader to have more advantage, good bodily ratios, moved with purpose. Good clean order.

Brace.

1^st Mrs Mennel’s Black & White Parti colours brace, look a pair at all times and

 moved in unison, they very much look alike.
