Selby Canine Society Open show

2 May 2010

Shih Tzu

Thank you for a quality entry.

Puppy (2:1)

1. Carpenter’s Golden Prince of the Orient. Very smart and promising red 9 month old male. Fabulous chrysanthemum head of correct proportions. Well ribbed back with correct barrel ribs. Thick undercoat and good texture topcoat developing. Dark pigment. Excellent tail set and carriage in pothook. Good front and rear assembly. Outgoing nature and moves with confidence. Presented well. BPIB.

Junior (4:0)

1. Bushell’s Caserose Poetry in Motion. Black & white bitch, sturdy yet feminine. Darkest of eyes and eye rims, firm underjaw with width, arch to correct length neck, level topline, barrel ribs, straight forelegs. So nice to see a well muscled bitch who moves cleanly and lives up to her name. Superbly balanced with her head and tail both standing and on the move. Well deserved BOB.

2. Wright’s Rosejoy Andy’s. Red & white dog with excellent width to skull and foreface with correct muzzle length & expression. Large black nose. Moved well but not the topline of 1. Another who displayed the correct high tail.

3. Crossland’s Rossvale Miss Red Delicious.

Post Graduate (4:1)

1. Williams’ Paliden Shining Gold. Gold bitch who presents a picture of breed type. Eyes correctly placed. Excelled in body and shoulder placement. So very sound overall that this far outweighed a less than perfect bite. Movement was a pleasure to watch with reach and drive.

2. Brooks’ Superlion Jezabel at Marbrux. Brindle & white parti. Excellent head features, winter nose but excellent dark eye, well bodied & good ribbing, moved straight and true. Not quite the overall balance of 1.

3. Howland’s Tanibet Queen of Hearts

Limit (3:0)

1. Murrell’s Just Dandy from Krisquest. Oozes type and balance. Large, round, darkest of eyes. Excellent topline. Stood out at the top of this class on front construction & tail carriage. Level topline. Moved with enthusiasm and a dash of naughtiness!

2. Cheshire’s Superlion Chiante. Sweetest of heads on this ultra feminine bitch. Dark round eyes. Excellent firm chin. Excellent barrel ribs extending well back. Could not match the front assembly or tail carriage of 1 but nevertheless really catches the eye.

3. Hyam’s Paliden Looking for Love With Sandolin.

Open (6:2)

1. Crossland’s Tameron Miss Gorgeous. Gold & white, the ultimate in a feminine bitch, yet well built for sturdiness.  Loved her head and expression that was busy weighing me up, and her overall balance. Ex body height to length proportions, would prefer slightly higher tail carriage to complement her otherwise lovely profile. Moves out well with spirit.

2. Harvey’s Delmarvey’s High Society. B/W. So well ribbed back and brilliant barrel ribs. Sadly topline not the best today. A busy person, full of character and thoroughly enjoying the experience, which is so rewarding to see.

3. Hyam’s Paliden Looking for Love With Sandolin.
